GENERAL ORDERS #4 May 1, 2024
All General Orders from the Department President are official and must be read at the first meeting following receipt before being filed for reference.
- Department of Colorado Convention will be held in Cripple Creek, CO at the Chamonix Casino Hotel, 201 Bennett Ave., Cripple Creek, CO 80813 on June 5 through 8, 2024. All busi ness sessions will be held at the hotel. Uniform of the day for Wednesday night Council meeting will be comfortable casual or President’s shirt. Thursday Joint Opening and Business Sessions uniform will be the official blue shirt, black skirt or slacks and black shoes. Friday business sessions will be patriotic red, white, and blue tops or President’s shirt with blue or black slacks and black shoes. This applies to all council members only.
- Department President’s Special Project is Operation Veteran Strong. Please forward all donations to Department Treasurer, Lennie Dolan.
- Delegates to the Department Convention will be recognized by the Credential Committee upon registration according to the Delegate reports filed by the Auxiliary Secretary. Secretaries be sure to send Department Delegate Forms to the Department Secretary immediately following delegate elections. NO Delegate cards will be mailed to the Auxiliaries. Remember elected delegates serve for one year.
- Any Auxiliary in arrears for submission of audits shall be deprived of their vote at the Department Convention. Audits covering the months of July 2023 through March 2024 must be completed and on file with the Department Treasurer prior to convention. All rights shall be promptly restored upon proper adjustment of such deficiencies.
- Audits for the months of January, February and March 2024 are due by May 31, 2024. Audits must be read on the Auxiliary floor and voted to be approved before sending them to the Department Treasurer, Lennie Dolan.
- District Presidents: Annual official visits to the Auxiliaries should be completed. The District Officer making the visit should sign the Secretary and Treasurer books to verify that they are being kept in accordance with procedures. Copies of bonds, audits, and verification of 990 filings should be available for review. All questions on the visit form should be completed. Completed inspection forms should be mailed or emailed to Department Chief of Staff Linda Reinpold and President Phil Reinpold.
- Membership for those who have not yet paid 2024 dues will end July 1, 2024. Dues for lapsed members can be paid up to June 30, 2024. Any member who has not paid by that time will be dropped from the rolls and must re-apply for membership.
- Department Officers and Chairmen must have their year-end convention book reports to Department Secretary Cindy Anderson by May 1, 2024.
- A special thank you to all of you who attended the Council of Administration held in Denver in March.
