Deadlines:

October 31, 2023 - Student entries are due to the sponsoring Post.

November 15, 2023 - Completion of Post judging.  Entries due to the District Chairman.

December 15, 2023 - Completion of District judging.  Entries and reports due to the Department Chairman

*January 15, 2024 - Department winning entry is due to National.

* Denotes required deadlines (by VFW National)

 Important! - Chairmen, please provide a copy of the District Report to the Post and District Adjutant for entry in the VFW Programs Dashboard

Chairman Instructions

Please note that all are to be judged through the Scholars App online system who has partnered with the VFW for the Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen programs. Post and District chairmen must register with the Scholars App as follows:

1. Click on the link - which should open in a browser. If not, copy and paste the URL into your browser's (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) address bar.

2. Enter your email address on the first age - CLICK NEXT.
3. Enter information about your post - CLICK NEXT
4. Enter your post's contact for Commander, Patriot's pen and Voice of Democracy this year - CLICK NEXT.
5. Answer if your post will be entering in Patriot's Pen and Voice of Democracy this year - CLICK NEXT.
6. Enter your post's prize amount for first place Patriot's pen - CLICK NEXT.
7. Answer if your post will be participating in Voice of Democracy this year - CLICK NEXT.
8. Enter your post's prize money for first place Voice of Democracy this year - CLICK NEXT.
9. CLICK SUBMIT.

Afterwards: Within a couple of days, you will receive an email from Scholars App with a link to your Post's application page along with downloadable flyers to print and take to schools.
