Department of Colorado

The Department of Colorado will select District Commanders to make up the Department of Colorado 2024 – 2025 All-State Team of District Commanders. The team will be presented at the first Council of Administration following the 2025 Department Convention.

Awards

Awardees will receive: Team members will be presented with an official VFW All-State Team white cap, a $25 check, and an All State Certificate. The Team Captain will be presented with all the above and an All-State jacket.

Qualifications

• Membership – District must have attained 102% of the prior year’s membership as determined by the VFW National MemStats Report on June 30, 2025.
• Programs - District must submit at least one VOD and one Patriot's Pen entry to Department.

When the above qualifications have been met, the District Commander will be awarded All-State honors. The District Commander with the highest score will be designated as the Team Captain.

Points Schedule

• Inspections - for completing all Post inspections by December 31st 2024 (10 points)
• For each District Training conducted (10 points)
• For each District School of Instruction conducted (10 points)
• All posts within the District have submitted a Buddy Poppy order (5 points)
• All Posts within the District have donated to the Department Service Office (5 points)

In the event of a tie, the Commander of the District to achieve 102% first shall be the Team Captain. If Commanders are still tied, the Commander having the highest number of new members will be the Team Captain.

All District Commanders who are eligible for All-State District Commander will be notified by the Department Commander and provided an official entry form. If the District Commander is no longer serving in that role a stipend to attend the first COA following the 2025 State Convention will be offered.
