October 31st - Entries are due to the sponsoring Post
November 15th - Winning Post entries are due to the District Chairman
December 15th - District winning entry packets are due to the Department Chairman
January 10th - Department judging completed
January 15th - Department winners due to national
January 31st - Department reports due to national

Please note that all are to be judged through the Scholars App online system who has partnered with the VFW for the Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen programs. Post and District chairmen must register with the Scholars App as follows:

- Enter your post's prize amount for first place Patriot's pen - CLICK NEXT.
- Answer if your post will be participating in Voice of Democracy this year - CLICK NEXT.

Afterwards: Within a couple of days, you will receive an email from Scholars App with a link to your Post's application page along with downloadable flyers to print and take to schools.
